Sure. His main concern is the weight, length and depth of the hull. These factors determine how the boat "Ride the Waves". For example, a boat 38 feet long that back 6 feet deep in water can, and about 5 tons of weight can raise more in the vein of 6 feet and water from the deck. A boat 65 feet long, 10 feet above the water and reach a weight of 50 tons can easily handle an influx of 6 feet and you can get a spray from the deck. However, the two can handle vessels of the ocean. One of my friends has a 42-foot sailboat and traveled around the world! ;-)
